And why use the term support? If it is a federal (and maybe state) holiday, it is a holiday whether They support it or not ( like Christmas or Easter.)

Some complained about President Biden creating Juneteenth as a national holiday (when federal troops told Texas slaves they were free), but many corporations made it a PAID HOLIDAY! For instance, Disney gave all of their hundreds-of-thousands of employees nationwide (including me) a paid holiday this week. Who would complain about more money?!

Our kids were off of work that day, so was our son-in-law. More holidays are good.

Worldmark support is closed today as well. I'm not from the USA and am a bit confused. Is the holiday today? I thought it was June 19th...

It was the 19th. Wydham just chose to observe it today instead of on the 19th to give their employees a long weekend instead of a Wednesday off.

I got Wed off as a paid Holiday too, which is great. But I probably would have preferred they observed it like Presidents day for a long weekend. Perhaps that's what these companies are doing.

Interesting from a call centre point of view, as those employees do work weekends so one wouldn't think it makes much difference whether they close Wednesday or Friday.
I always feel sorry for the call centre staff in the Philippines, who get US holidays off but not things like their Independence Day (June 12) or Lunar New Year.

But it seems they are giving them all three days off. At least based on what the OP speculated. I suspect they also have fewer people in the office on the weekends? Perhaps less managerial staff that will get a long weekend out of it.

I assumed it was everyone, and not just the call center. So any department that works a normal M-F schedule (financial, title, etc.) would get the long weekend.

Call center agents in the Philippines often do get their own holidays off, and/or get paid holiday pay for working on national holidays. They actually have some pretty stringent national laws on this topic. My company has both domestic and global call centers. The good part is we can over-staff globally and allow more people off domestically and vice versa when we celebrate different holidays; but we are a 24x7x365 operation so on holidays like Christmas that apply in both countries some people still have to work (though they are paid a nice premium for working holidays)

The holiday was on Wednesday though. They take the entire week off?

That is odd. June 19th has significance, like December 25.

No mail on Wednesday.
My daughter (and son-iin-law) had it off. Her worked wrapped it into a mandatory week off shutdown (they do that twice a year). Two weeks before their week-off, they cancelled the mandatory closure. If you had pre-paid travel plans you could still have the week off, otherwise they were to report to work. Imagine how well all that went down.
They all still got Juneteeth (Wednesday) off.

12 years, 1 month, 14 days, 13 hours and 19 minutes left for me, but who’s counting?
